Cedrina Calder, MD MSPH

Dr. Cedrina Calder, aka FitDoc®, is a board-certified preventive medicine physician, public health leader and media expert. Her mission is to inspire and empower women to take control of their health. She prides herself in her ability to engage and connect with people in a way that garners their trust, while empowering them to make healthy lifestyle choices. Dr. Calder’s expertise has been shared on a variety of media platforms including television, radio, print and online. Some well-known platforms include Nike, BET, Insider, WebMD, Prevention, Yahoo!, MSN, and PopSugar. In addition, she serves as a member of the Medical Expert Board for Eat This, Not That!, a national food and health publication. As a board member, she provides the editorial staff with expert guidance that helps more than 20 million readers per month make better eating choices every day.

Dr. Calder earned her undergraduate degree from The George Washington University and her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine. She initially pursued a career in surgery, but eventually realized that her true passion was for health promotion and disease prevention. This led her to pursue a career in preventive medicine. She completed her residency training in preventive medicine and earned her Master of Science in Public Health degree at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee.

Originally from New Jersey, Dr. Calder currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee where she serves as a medical director in the public health sector and operates her own preventive medicine telehealth practice. She is also founder and CEO of FitDoc LLC, a health and wellness company that provides wellness coaching, lectures, seminars, and workshops.

In addition to being a physician and media expert, Dr. Calder is a fitness expert. She is one of only a few physicians who have successfully won a pro title through the IFBB Professional League which is the largest bodybuilding organization in the world. Through her years of experience in the fitness space, she learned firsthand how to transform the human body using proper nutrition and exercise.

By utilizing a variety of media outlets and speaking opportunities, Dr. Calder hopes to reach as many people as possible to share her expertise in the areas of preventive health, fitness, and nutrition. She truly believes that education is the key to better health.
